Privacy policy

The short version

We do not ask you to create an account, we do not sell data, and the only information you actively give us is whatever you type into the contact form. Beyond that there is standard website analytics, and the cookies that affiliate links set at the retailer.

What we collect

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and which recommendations people click. It collects the usual: pages visited, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, referring site, and time on page.

We also record an event when someone clicks a buy link, containing the merchant, the destination and the page it happened on. It contains nothing that identifies you. It is the only measure we have of whether a recommendation was useful.

Google’s own privacy practices are documented at policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of Google Analytics entirely with Google’s browser add-on.

The contact form

If you use it, we receive your name, email address and message, by email. We use them to reply to you and for nothing else. We do not add you to a mailing list, because there is no mailing list.

The form has basic spam protection: a hidden field that real visitors never see, a check on how long the form was open before submission, and a limit on submissions per network address per hour. None of that stores anything about you beyond the current hour.

Affiliate cookies

When you click a buy link, the retailer sets a cookie in your browser so it can attribute a purchase to us. That cookie belongs to the retailer, not to us, and it is governed by their privacy policy. We do not receive your name, your address, your payment details, or what you eventually bought — only an aggregated report of commissions.

What we do not collect

• No accounts, so no passwords.
• No payment information. Nothing is sold on this site.
• No newsletter list.
• No advertising network tracking pixels beyond the analytics described above.
• No data sold or shared with anyone for marketing.

Cookies

Analytics cookies from Google, and affiliate cookies set by the retailer when you click through. That is all. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site works normally without them, and the only consequence is that we cannot see that your visit happened.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to its processing. Since the only personal data we hold is contact-form correspondence, that request is straightforward to satisfy: email info@frostandfender.com and we will delete it.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect, this page changes first, and the date at the top changes with it.
